Characters worth trying! (Smash Ultimate)

XernDrawz - December 16, 2018

Smash Ultimate came out about a week ago, and even if I don't have the game, there's a lot of characters I'd like to reccomend. There's so much characters to choose from, it can be overwhelming. I've been talking with my good buddy OCTOROCK (Yes, in all caps...) who has the game and we've discussed a lot of the characters and tiers and whatnot. So I'll be reccomending a few characters to try out. Who knows, you may even like how they play, maybe main them. Probably not...haha.

King K. Rool

Obviously, a lot of people's favorite newcomer would be King K. Rool. But there's more to this crazy croc than aesticics, his playstyle is mixed. With ranged attacks such as his crown throw and cannon shot, and more agressive up close attacks. Not only this, but he is insanely powerful. His up-air has a fair chance of killing you, and his up smash is 2 hits. K Rool is definitely a top tier, but that's not why I chose him, I'm picking newcomers with playstyles people might enjoy.

Snake

Snake was the hype of the Smash Bros. reveal, but he quickly lost the spotlight to several newcomers. But this doesn't mean he's not a character. Snake is for the players who like gimping and running around. His grenades deal a fair amount of damage, and you can throw them very far. Snake in agressive play is NOT the way to go. You can get up-close at times but it's not a good idea for that to be your only move.

Inkling

Inkling is...interesting. The playstyle is mixed, and doesn't really fall into a specific category. Really, anyone can play inkling, but you'll need to know a few tricks and tips. Inkling's roller is really powerful, and there's several ways to take advantage of it. I couldn't list them all, but Inkling can nearly kill you if the roller is used correctly. You should also ink your opponent whenever possible, since inking leads to several advantages.

Simon

Simon is mostly long ranged, with a lot of downsides. His chain...thing...(I'm not a castlevania fan)is the main thing going for Simon. Actually, it's the only thing going for him. If you're a long ranged player-congratulations! Simon is for you. However Simon has a very bad recovery, besides tethers. If you're not close enough to a ledge to tether- you're screwed.

Welp, that's it folks! I hope you enjoyed the list...it's actually my first post here, haha! Stay tuned for more Blog Posts in the future...!
