A very safe way to play as Puff during neutral is to “bait” with your movements. You need to make the Cloud commit into you by using some of your short hop aerials as a bait during neutral. Puff has very good aerials and these are hard to punish if spaced properly. I really recommend using a lot of Forward and Neutral air while trying to approach since these moves has a lot of active frames and they can be used defenively as well as offensively.

More experienced Clouds tend to play more campy/defensive in this MU so you will need to stay patient and focus on not giving him the opportunity to damage you for free, specially at the beggining on the match where Cloud can get huge damage on you by just using his Cross-Slash and Up-air strings. You must avoid those moves at the beggining of the match where Puff is most likely to take a lot of damage and leave Cloud with a huge adventaje on you.

Clouds who arent experienced in this MU often think its safe to punish Puff’s short hop aerials and this is where you can take adventaje and do some damege or even put Cloud on an edgeguard situation.

Canceling your aerials will allow Puff to land and shield herself while she blocks some of Cloud’s agressive options such as Dash attack, Forward Smash or Down air.

If your timing on blocking its good enough you can respond with a Dair into grab (Only works at low%) or just a Fair/Nair. If you hit Cloud’s shield with a full hop fair and then drift backwards with Nair it will catch him if he goes for a roll to avoid the Fair.

If the Cloud is more experienced in this MU he may not attack your shield during neutral and rather than that he will try to go for a grab so you may have to mix your options during neutral and react to his agressive options all the time. For example, if he is on the ground there is a big chance he is looking for a Dash-attack, a Cross-Slash or a Grab.

Remember you can get adventaje by just blocking some of his aggressive options thanks to Puff’s quick out of shield options such as Down-air to grab (Only works at low%) or just a Fair or Neutral Air (Both can kill at 120-150%)

Recovering (1)

Cloud

Jigglypuff has not recovery tools besides her jumps so better try to use her six jumps wisely, remember you can always extend the length of your jumps by using Side-B to reach larger distances but sadly you will always be prone to footstools or even a limit cross-slash off-stage, specially against more experienced players. To avoid these situations make sure to mix up your jumps with air-dodges and pound to make your recovery longer while trying to predict your opponent's movement.

Remember you can surprise your opponent by using sing before touching the ledge to put him to sleep, most people dont expect this move and it can be pretty useful on these situations.

Position yourself in a spot near the ledge where you can react really fast against his getup option.
If he goes for the roll getup then you can either go for Rest (this will kill Cloud at 38% with no rage and at 19% with full rage) or an up-tilt (this will kill Cloud at 134% with no rage, and at 107% with full rage).

If you dont think he will go for the roll getup then you can go for a full jump Fair/Nair to hit him after his getup option or even a Dair if you feel like he is going to shield after the normal getup.

Edgeguarding (1)

Cloud

Jigglypuff

Once you managed to get Cloud off-stage just make sure to hit him before or during his recovery with an aerial movement that has a lot of active frames or multi-hits such as Nair or Dair, once you cut his recovery there is not much Cloud can do if he doesnt get his Limit recovery.

Don't overcommit if you manage to push him very far away to the point where he cant reach the ledge anymore, he can still take you with him if he catch you with his Up-B.

Always have in mind Cloud can't tech if he gets hit after frame 17 of his up-b, any of your strong aerial moves (specially Back-air) can easily guarantee a stock if you time it properly, make sure to always go off-stage to catch Cloud during his up-b before he reach the ledge.

Its also well known that Cloud's recovery doesn't sweetspot the ledge until frame 28 of his up-b, there is a chance you can punish him with your Down-Smash and get a stock of it if you time if well.

Stage choice (1)

Against Cloud i avoid going T&C and BF/DL because they can give you a harder time if they do the classic platform camp to charge limit and there is not much Puff can do besides chasing them with her aerials.

For this MU i'd rather go FD, SV or even Lylat because these stages gives Puff more options to play during neutral.
